Umpiring Courses

The numerous competitive activities that Surrey Hockey Association organises and runs, could not go ahead without the support of so many qualifies umpires, officials and volunteers. England Hockey has created an 'umpire pathway,' which includes a framework of accreditation levels and resource materials to assist umpires with their peronsal development within the game.

There are two introductory level umpiring awards; the Young Umpire Award (suitable for young people aged 8 to 13) and the Foundation Umpire Award (for those with limited experience of the sport or new to officiating the game).

Those wishing to umpire at a competitive level can then work towards three levels of accreditation we have in England, the latter of which is aimed at those involved in the national programme, including the England Hockey League (EHL) and the National Tournament Finals and Championships.

Click on the links below for more information about each of the levels and to access detailed course information and booking forms.
