The Surrey Grass Conference provides regular hockey for those who wish to continue playing on grass. It runs as a conference issuing fixtures rather than as a league where a final table is provided. The emphasis is on fun hockey and in maintaining the traditional grass hockey ethos of hospitality.

 

The matches run throughout the season and there is an annual festival in late October.

 

There is no minimum age requirement though teams are expected to have an average age of at least 35.

Duke's have restarting making balls suitable for grass hockey (www.dukescricket.co.uk). The balls have a sythetic coating rather than leather but are designed to have the same properties as the old leatehr balls.
