England Hockey Coaching Awards
Level 1
The Level 1 course will result in you becoming an accredited Level 1 coach. This is the minimum qualification for those who are involved in hockey coaching sessions working under supervision – for example, a Level 2 coach may be working on another part of the pitch and will assume responsibility for the session.

Level 2
The Level 2 award is designed “...for those who wish to coach the techniques of the game beyond an introductory level and apply them to tactical play and the coaching of teams.” It is compulsory for all Level 2 coaches to have an Emergency 1st Aid Certificate and have attended the sports coach UK Safeguarding and Child Protection Course.

Level 3
The Level 3 qualification is aimed "...those who wish to coach tactical play and team play to a more advanced level. The prerequisite to attend the Level 3 course is to have completed the Level 2 coach award. The course is only suitable for those who have experience of coaching hockey in a variety of settings. Ideally a club head coach would have the Level 3 Award."

There is a fee for each of the courses, which covers the cost of the facilities, tutors and assessors.
